The following top-level domains have been approved by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) as of May 11, 2001:

• .biz - for businesses
• .info - open to anyone

Others being considered are:

• .coop - for non-profit cooperatives
• .aero - for the air transportation industry
• .museum - for museums
• .name - for individuals/personal sites
• .pro - for accountants, lawyers and physicians
