Web Site Promotion - Link Exchange

A growing trend for search engines, is to rank sites by quantity of quality links TO the site. For this reason, it is important to find sites that are good, and are related to yours in some way, and then try to get them to link to your site. Perhaps they offer a supplemental service or product. Maybe they contain content relevant to a topic your site covers. In many cases, sites will link to yours, if you will link to theirs. That's a pretty small price!

There are disadvantages to link exchange programs. For instance, you have no control over the banners that appear on your site (some programs at least make sure the banners are somewhat related to your site) and you have little control over what sites your banner appears on (most exchange programs won't put your banner on X-rated sites or sites with illegal content).

• LinkLeads - Link exchange program, plus other marketing ideas.
• Start Blaze - Browser "start page". Generate hits for your site, by opening your browser with Start Blaze as the start page.
• Trade Banners - Banner exchange program. 2 to 1 exchange for free. 4 to 3 exchange for $25/year.
• Zone Swap - Banner exchange program that allows you some control over the types of sites your banners go on.
