Web Site Design Tips: Banner Design/Usage

• Standard size of horizontal banners is 468 pixels wide by 60 pixels tall (this may vary depending on who will be displaying your banner).
• File size should be no greater than 12 K (this may vary depending on who will be displaying your banner).

• Use animation but use it wisely. You are trying to get someone's attention, not cause seizures.
• Get to the Point, don't mince words. You have a small space and just a couple of seconds to get someone to click through.
• Don't send visitors on a scavenger hunt - Make sure your banner links to a page that actually contains the information the ad copy speaks to.
• FREE! That word gets a lot of attention. Offer a freebie for clicking-through.
