Web Site Design Tips: HTML/XHTML

  • There are no magical tips here, and I can't tell you anything the W3C can't, so I suggest you read up on their guidelines. Still feel free to contact me if something is confusing to you. I will add tips as XHTML catches on and is used more.
  • Deprecated HTML tags. The following tags will be phased out of HTML and should be replaced by style sheet elements: <font>, <center>, <u>, and <i>.

HTML Tips for Server-Side Script Users

  • Don't forget the basic tags It's easy to omit the basic HTML tags when using server-side technology to create html -- especially if you test your work in Internet Explorer which puts those tags in for you! Not all browsers do this, so don't rely on it.
