Browsers and Where to Get Them
(There are many other browsers out there, but I haven't included any that have a fee or that haven't had an update in the last 3 years)
Browsers
- Amaya, the browser created by the W3C, is more than just a browser, it's also an html editor.
- K-Meleon - Like other "alternative" browsers, K-Meleon is faster and more streamlined.
- MS Internet Explorer
- NeoPlanet - Has some nice features. If you're in to skins, this is a good browser for you.
- Netscape Navigator - It was a bumpy road, but Netscape finally got back to its old self with Navigator 6.2. Most functionality issues you find in pages viewed with NN are due to impure coding. Even I have had to clean up my act.
- Opera - One of the best "alternative" browsers, Opera can compete with the big guns. The free version includes advertisements. You can purchase an ad-free version.

- Spiders and robots are computer programs that scour the web and index web sites. These programs are mainly used by search engines. This can be good, as your site could get listed by search engines without any effort on your part, sometimes, you will want to tell spiders and bots to "kepp out". This site can tell you how.
- Opt-Out - Internet Spyware and Detection - Includes information regarding software that have components to collect and report data without your permission. Also includes a utility to check your system for this software.
